Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
Practices and games are held at
Mark McGrath Park
in Meadows Place, TX, near the intersection of W. Airport and Dairy Ashford.
What is included with registration?
For the Fall baseball season, MPPB provides a hat and jersey to all players. Players will provide their own baseball pants.
For the Spring baseball season, 6U Shetland and 8U Pinto divisions are provided a hat, jersey, pants, socks, and a belt for the uniform. 10U Mustang and 12U Bronco divisions are provided an upgraded jersey and hat (pants, belt, and socks will be provided by the player).
What equipment does my child need?
All players will need their own baseball glove. For sanitary reasons, we also highly encourage players to purchase their own personal batting helmet. We encourage players to wear baseball cleats for their footwear. Most players also purchase their own baseball bat, and we also recommend cleats for footwear (especially for the older players). Bats must comply with the
USABat standard
(look for the "USA Baseball" logo stamped on the bat).
My child has no baseball experience. Can he/she still play?
Yes! We are a great league to begin your experience with the sport of baseball. Every season we have a wide range of skill levels and abilities, ranging from beginner to highly skilled.
What does League Age mean?
The League Age is the age that your child is considered by the league for classification purposes. Currently, the League Age is determined by the age of your child as of May 1, 2025. While this may be confusing as your child's League Age may not match the actual age of your child, rest assured that they will be playing with players of the same age.
Which division does my child play in?
MPPB operates on a fall-spring model, which means that players move up in age before the fall season. Currently, the League Age is determined by the age of your child as of May 1, 2025. You will generally find players in the following school grades in each division:
6U Shetland (T-ball): Pre-K, Kindergarten, & first grade
8U Pinto (Coach Pitch): First grade, second grade, & third grade
10U Mustang (Kid Pitch): Third grade, fourth grade, & fifth grade
12U Bronco (Kid Pitch): Fifth grade, sixth grade, & seventh grade
Can my child play up a division?
MPPB encourages players to play with their age group, as this increases the skill level and competition of each age group. However, we do allow players to play up one division.
Do I have to live within a certain boundary to play with MPPB?
No, MPPB does not have any boundary restrictions, and welcomes all players.
Does MPPB take friend or coach requests?
In general, no. By way of the draft system, the league strives to achieve, as best as possible, parity in skills among all the teams in each division. All head coaches have the opportunity to draft players to their team, but MPPB cannot guarantee placement of a player on any particular team or with a particular coach.
When are practices and games?
Practices are held during the week and vary by the team, but are generally at the same day/time each week. 6U Shetland and 8U Pinto teams typically practice one day per week, while the 10U Mustang and 12U Bronco teams typically practices two days per week. Games are typically played on Saturdays, although some weeknight games may be played depending on the scheduling requirements in a given season.
What are All-Stars?
Following the spring baseball season, MPPB has the opportunity to form all-star teams in each division to play in PONY postseason tournaments starting in June.
Is MPPB a 501(c)3?
Yes, MPPB is a 501(c)3 organization, meaning that all donations to the league are tax-deductible. For more information on making a donation, email us at
